Our Salvation Is Something to Rejoice About

Bible quotation of Luke 10:20In prayer, I often thank God for His Son Jesus and His obedience to the cross. It is solely because of His death on the cross that my name is written in the book of life.

One day Jesus’ disciples came back rejoicing that even demons were subject to them through His name. As astounding as that was, Jesus said to them, “In this rejoice not, that the spirits are subject unto you; but rather rejoice, because your names are written in heaven” (Luke 10:20).

The point is that our salvation is a big deal. Think about it. God has given the world a period of time for repentance. But one day, He will judge this world. His wrath will be poured out against all ungodliness. But those who accept Christ as their Savior will be saved and we will ever be with the Lord.

I am often mystified by the grace of God. Like why am I saved while so many people out there are lost? Why was I born in a place where the gospel is so abundant? Since we are saved by grace, you and I have nothing to boast about in this regard.

In some respects, we are like Jesus’ disciples. We rejoice in the matchless name of Jesus. And how God uses us in the ministry. And the many blessings He has bestowed upon our life. For these we should be thankful. But the greatest thing we have to rejoice about is our salvation in the Lord.
