The Lord Knows What to Do about Your Problem

A chalk board with the words "problem" and "solution"Jesus looked out and saw a great multitude. They had been following Him because they saw the miracles He had performed on the sick. Knowing the people were hungry, Jesus asked Philip, “Whence shall we buy bread, that these may eat?” (John 6:5, KJV).

Andrew, Simon Peter’s brother, also weighed in on Jesus’ question (verses 8,9). But Jesus was not seeking advice from Philip or anybody else. He posed the question to test Philip, “for he himself knew what he would do” (verse 6).

The people in our life can be like Philip and Andrew at times. They will be at a lost as to a way forward in our life. But the Lord knows what to do about your problem and mine. In this case, He took five barley loaves and two small fish and used them to feed about five thousand men!

We must be careful to never relate to the Lord as a mere human being. Our inability to see an answer to our problem says nothing about the Lord’s ability. He is omnipotent and omniscient. He has ways and means at His disposal that we don’t know of. He always knows what to do. Let us seek Him boldly in our time of need.
