“Come Unto Me…And I Will Give You Rest”

One man pointing another man to the crossMany, if not most people today, are on a spiritual journey of some kind. They may not know what it is that they are looking for. But if and when they find it they will know that they have.  The error of many today is that they are looking for something or someone to fill that unique place within them that only a relationship with Christ can fill.

Some people go from one denomination to another, and one religion to another in their quest for spiritual fulfillment. Others may pursue that objective through the many works they do in the name of the Lord.

But Jesus says, “Come unto me, all ye that labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest” (Matt. 11:28). He is speaking to a specific group of people—those who labor and are overburdened.  Spiritual fulfillment cannot come from a denomination or a religion. Neither from local church affiliation or working in the church. It can come only through a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. He invites all to come to Him.

Are you the one Jesus is talking to? Are you tired? Are you heavily laden from failed efforts of trying to find spiritual contentment and rest for your soul? Jesus says, come to Him. He will give you rest.
